250lbs in replacement parts, back from the galvanizer.
My order is comparatively small potatoes, at least this time they only lost 6 of 238 parts.
Yeah, small potatoes. That flange alone is 7' tall and 3" thick.
And I finished drawing Peter Black’s SV last night, it’s gorgeous, I can’t wait to share it with you guys.

A number of years ago I needed a camouflage 115' tall radio tower. The outfit that built it started with a power pole, then added branches, bark texture etc to come up with a fake pine tree that looked very original. The base was a 72" flange bolted to a 28' deep concrete footing.

Haha, I hate those fake trees when they only put branches at the top. Sometimes they’re more obnoxious than a normal pole.

My tree was fucking awesome, client had an open pocket book so we found the nicest one we could. We had a wind storm two years later and the MFR actually sent us 3 replacement branches for free. Those guys were great. The camo pole was $86K and the foundation was $25k.

Nice! Yeah, this project has proved how expensive things can be.

Even ones that look like trees tend to stick out because they are often way taller than the surrounding canopy. I’ll take you word that this one was nice though. Personally I’m not at all bothered by just having towers that look like towers, especially when you are talking about something by the side of a highway as opposed to in the middle of a national park or some such.
